Club champs rained out…
Wow! What a week of rain we have had! As I write this on Friday morning, the course is still closed to carts and the rain is bucketing down. Sean and his team worked feverishly to get everything pristine before Club Champs but lost the battle yesterday afternoon when we had a cloudburst at the club. The water was lapping in at the front door and we had to keep it at bay with towels. Needless to say, the course is now so wet that any meaningful game of golf would be a lottery at best, with bunkers resembling small dams.
Club Champs have now moved to the alternate date on the 8th and 9th April. Let’s hope the rain is done by then. Book a game this weekend anyway as the playing surfaces are still pristine.
Our Poker Evening was a big success last Friday with the winner only emerging at around 2am! Everyone enjoyed themselves, even the spectators! We will do this again sometime. Thanks to Heather and her team for a great job as always.
The next fun evening is on the 24th March and it will be a Trivia Evening. Diarise this now as it will be a lot of fun. Family and friends are welcome.
Just a reminder that the Robor Golf Day is next Thursday. Hospice are holding their Golf Day on the 16th. Please support this worthwhile day too.
Congratulations to Hannes Strydom who won the cruise in the League Fundraising Draw on Saturday. Enjoy your prize!
Have a good week!
