Festive Season is fast approaching – so much to do.
It has been a busy and eventful week. The Queenshaven Golf Day was a big success with a lot being raised for a very worthwhile charity. Thanks to all for the support.
We welcome Alberton Insurance Brokers to the club as you read this and next week Thursday the South African Institute of Foundrymen hold their golf day here, followed by the festive “67 Days in SA Boet” Golf Day on Friday.
There are lots of great events coming up in the next 2 months, namely:
Captain vs Vice Captain is taking place on the 12th November. Please put this in your diaries. All prize winners over the past 18 months are requested to attend prizegiving in the bar (and hopefully play golf on the day too). It is one of our big annual days and it is a lot of fun too. There will be food included and small trophies for all winners. In addition, photos will be taken with all the large trophies too so please make every effort to attend. This day is a big deal for all our golfers and we want to celebrate your successes with you!
The Club End Of Year Party is on Friday, 2nd December and as usual it will be a jol! Great food, music and festivities to celebrate another wonderful year at Reading. Be here!
The Kids Christmas Tree is on the 4th December at a cost of R30 per child (Sweet hamper) and R40 per adult (tea/coffee and eats). Please diarize.
The Members Christmas Lunch is on the 18th December. Cost: R140 per person (Menu to be advised soon, for a delicious Christmas feast). Bookings are open with Roz already on (011) 907 8906.
From January 2017, The governing body have decided that Reading will be implementing what most clubs already have in place, namely a small levy on private golf carts for visitors and members alike. All money raised goes to a separate account allocated exclusively to the establishment of cart paths, to be built where carts are ruining the course. The idea is that the course will eventually have cart paths everywhere they are needed and this will be financed by the people who use the carts. The amounts are small. There are 2 options, namely:
Up front annual payment – R600.
Pay by round – R20 per round.
A reminder that we will be sending notices of payment out this week about subs for next year. The increases have been kept to a minimum as we realize things are tight out there. Please, if you intend resigning, I must receive your resignation in writing before the 31st December (as per our constitution), otherwise you are liable for subs for 2017. Obviously I hope we don’t receive a single one. If you have any problems, please feel free to contact me to discuss it before you resign. We want to keep our members happy and strive to do so.
The 100 Club was postponed by a week due to unforeseen circumstances, but it will take place this Saturday. Good luck to all ticket holders!
Good luck to all our juniors playing in the Junior Club Champs on Sunday!
