Be humble in victory and graceful in defeat!

Saturday League results continue to be good, for both the men’s and ladies’ teams.
Our positions at this stage are viable. The best advice anyone can offer is “Be
humble in victory, and graceful in defeat.” Always remember that the result is not
everything. It is the way you played the game. We are grateful for the way we play
the game. Our reputation is good. Go, Reading!

As we approach the “silly season” dates to diarise are all to do with celebrating. The
lady bowlers’ Christmas lunch is fast approaching. Thursday 29th November 2018 is
the day. This is always a most enjoyable day, so please add your name to the list on
the notice board to facilitate catering arrangements. Cost is R85 per person and you
need to bring a “secret Santa” gift to the value of R30. If last year’s event is anything
to go by, we should all have a blast!

Calling all grandparents! Another important date to diarise is the annual kiddies’
Christmas party. The children all have a great time, and that is what it’s all about.
This year’s event takes place on Sunday 2nd December 2018. Bookings must be
made with Roz Shaw in our admin office to ensure that your child/grandchild
receives your gift. There are snack boxes available for the adults, but these must be
booked in advance to avoid disappointment. Cost of adult snack boxes is R40.
Maximum price of child/grandchild’s gift is R250.00. Gifts must be clearly marked
with your child/grandchild’s name to ensure that they receive the correct gift. But all
these details will be fully explained to you by Roz.

Heard around the greens is that Bubi Silberman green will be opening soon. Leon
Kessel green? No info at this stage.

See you in the sun,

Sandra
