Members battle it out to see who knows their music!

Hello everyone.

This week has been unusually hot for this time of the year and the club continues to pump. No fewer than 12 functions over the weekend kept us on our toes. This Thursday we welcome the Grace Trinity School for their golf day, with the Ekurhuleni Juniors playing here on Sunday afternoon. Next week, the SPCA are here on Tuesday, Aveng Trident on Wednesday and Wee Shuggies on Thursday.

Friday, 9th September sees another first at the club! A night trail walk/run of 5 or 10 kms around the golf course. Information is available on posters all over the club and here. Come and give this a go. Great fun for the whole family! Enter online and save 25%.

This Friday is one I am really looking forward to! Our first Members Battle of the DJ’s! If you love music, if you ever wanted to try DJ-ing, if you think you know more about music than most people or any combination of the above, then this is for you. It is simple. Choose any 3 songs of any age that you think will have the crowd on their feet. You come up and I will assist you to mix them well (unless you want to try it yourself which is also fine). You have the microphone at your disposal too. You have the duration of those 3 songs to get the best crowd response. So whether you are 17 or 87, you are welcome to give it a try! Bring family and friends along for more fun and support. In addition it is spring and our Spring Party is coming soon, so dress for the occasion – anything goes! There will be great food on sale too, so it promises to be an awesome evening! Bookings with Roz on (011) 907 8906.

Our bunkers continue to be refurbished on the golf course side and Sean is busy fertilizing and preparing for summer. A big word of thanks to Hendrik from Alberante BMW for the kind loan of his TLB to carry out some much needed maintenance on the course too.

Speaking of maintenance, you will notice the beautiful new tiles in the main hall and painting going on all over the clubhouse. We have fixed all faulty windows and the bar trellidors are next on the list. Our venues are making us good money but we need to maintain our club and what better time than spring!

This Saturday our Handicap League are in action again as are our ladies with their Spring Trophy. It promises to be a festive weekend!

The next Par 3 Challenge is on Thursday, 15th September at 15h00 with a shotgun start. Space is limited to 40 players, so book at the pro shop today (011) 907 3666!

I love being here and seeing you all enjoying yourselves! Have a great week!
