Message from the Club President
You will all no doubt be aware that Dave Smith has left Reading to pursue a new challenge in Cape Town. We wish him all the best, he will surely be missed. Having joined the small band of club managers who have moved on of their own accord we wish him the best of luck. He undoubtedly left Reading in a better space than he found it, what more can you ask for.
For the future it was decided to get a replacement immediately. We are pleased to announce that on the 1st of May, Mr Marinus Weiss will be employed as General Manager. Having been a member of Reading for close on 30 years he needs no introduction to many of us. To the rest, Marinus has gained a great deal of experience in the golf industry having been GM at Plettenberg Bay and Port Elizabeth Country Clubs and he has also been Golf Director of the Central Gauteng Golf Union along the way. We are sure that Marinus will continue the good work of his predecessors, and we wish him a long a mutually beneficial relationship with us.

The time has come for me to say farewell. My sincere thanks to everyone for the numerous sendoffs over the past week or so. You have all been an integral part of my life for over 4 years and my time at this wonderful club will always be very special to me. Thank you for making me feel so welcome and a part of your Reading family. Good luck to everyone involved in the running of the club and make sure you give Marinus the new manager as great a welcome as you all gave me. God bless you all and please pop in for a visit if you find yourself in Cape Town.
