Reading is busy and we are loving it!
What a week in sport! Wayde van Niekerk has the entire planet excited, let alone his own countrymen! As an ex 400 metre runner myself, I could only watch in awe at the greatest performance of all time. Stunning! Usain Bolt’s 3rd 100m Olympic title was awesome and Liverpool edging Arsenal 4-3 in a classic, was rather special too!
We had another fantastic week at the club and it looks like the rest of the year will be busy and festive! As mentioned last week, the Ladies Charity Day was a great success. On Saturday, our resident Elvis Appreciation Group, “Shades of Grey” did a sold-out fundraising concert for charity and it was a smash hit! They will be doing this show in the next month or two and members will have the opportunity to buy tickets too, so watch this space. I got home at 02h30 if that gives you an indication! Fantastic.
This week is super busy! The St. Francis of Assisi Golf Day is today, Brelko on Friday, Handicap League on Saturday (2nd in the league) and our League Fundraiser on Sunday afternoon. Book for that now to avoid disappointment. It will be a great day. Next week Momentum and Seifsa hold their golf days at the club. A reminder that Friday reciprocity has been arranged with Glenvista.
Well done to our Senior League side who sit 1 point clear at the top of the table at present. They play again next weekend as do the Mid Amateur guys. Good luck to all! You guys make us proud.
As mentioned last week, we only have Castle Lite draught on tap at the moment due to stock going off on the other 3 lines. Please drop me a mail if you have any comments.
We have kept our Nedbank account open for a number of years, despite changing banks. We have now finally closed the Nedbank account and informed everyone that was still using that account, but if any payments bounce back and you have been a member for many years, please contact Barbara in the office. If anyone needs our banking details and you only have the Nedbank account, also feel free to contact us.
Sean is super excited, as his new cleaned silica bunker sand has finally arrived, as has the new bunker lining, so the bunker upgrades are once again in full swing! The new Brelko sponsored tee markers are currently being installed and they are stunning! A big word of thanks to Kenny and his team for their support.
Just a mention that we are extremely busy over the weekend. We will be diverting Saturday morning function guests to the overflow parking alongside the bowling greens, so that members are not affected. Please ensure you have a member’s sticker on your car’s windscreen to make access control easier for security. Thanks for your assistance with this.
Have a stunning week.
Dave and the Team
