Bowls Dress Code

BOWLING DRESS CODE FOR DISTRICT CHAMPIONSHIPS AND COMPETITIONS

EKURHULENI BOWLS

Feet apparel may be white, brown, black or blue or predominantly these colours with piping of another colour. – may be lace-up, pull-on, or sandal – MAY NOT BE BACKLESS OR BEACH THONGS – NO CROCS – must be flat, smooth soles – may be ridged soles (ridges must not be deeper than 2mm-match stick)

STOCKINGS: Ladies stockings shall be flesh colour or light tan. Socks worn by men shall be white or cream and a minimum ankle length.

SHIRTS/BLOUSES: Shirts shall have conventional collars and be adequately buttoned. When wearing CLUB-APPROVED coloured apparel each member of a side or team shall wear the same apparel. Standard white or cream apparel rule shall apply in other cases.

HEADWEAR

LADIES: HATS with CLUB-APPROVED hatband, CLUB-APPROVED CAPS OR PEAKS may be worn.

MEN: HATS with CLUB-APPROVED hatband or CLUB-APPROVED CAPS may be worn.

BLAZERS: Club-approved blazers may be worn.

WINDBREAKERS: Club-approved colours or white or cream

CARDIGANS/JUMPERS: Club-approved colours or white or cream.

DISTRICT COLOURS: DISTRICT – APPROVED APPAREL WINDBREAKER, GOLF SHIRT, HATBAND, CAP OR PEAK AND BOWLS BAG MAY ONLY BE WORN OR USED WHEN REPRESENTING THE DISTRICT.

CLUB RESPONSIBILITY – Club Executives are to regulate the use of Approved Club Colours and Regalia. Any transgression of these dress rules will be reported in writing to the Club concerned.

MEN

TROUSERS: When wearing CLUB-APPROVED coloured trousers or shorts, each member of a side or team shall wear the same colour apparel. Standard white or cream apparel rule shall apply in other cases.

Shorts shall be of regulation knee length and tailored with standard pockets, belt hoops and zipper. Individual members of a team may wear shorts when playing EG Bowls Championships, Competitions, Saturday League and Midweek League.

LADIES

SKIRTS, CAPRI PANTS, TAILORED SLAX, GOLF SHORTS: May be worn in CLUB-APPROVED colours, every member of side or team shall wear apparel of the same colour.

The length of shorts shall be on the knee. The length of slax shall be touching the instep. All ladies apparel shall be of tailored style with or without pockets and belts. Standard white or cream apparel rule shall apply in other cases.
